For Dell partners and shared customers, it is important to know that Dell Technologies and Intel are fully committed to making the industry more sustainable. Together they are optimizing resources and minimizing waste through innovative product designs, thoughtful manufacturing processes and environmentally conscious business practices that reduce the environmental impact on our world. By keeping products and materials in circulation longer through repair, recovery and reuse it supports an approach known as the circular economy.

Partners may already be familiar with Concept Luna. Concept Luna is a proof-of-concept device created jointly by Dell and Intel in 2021 in which together they developed a blueprint for sustainable PC manufacturing. By doing so they discovered that they could accelerate the circular economy by reducing emissions, leveraging modular designs, incorporating intelligent telemetry and repairing, refurbishing and recycling in every way possible.

In this case, Dell realized that they can’t make PC manufacturing circular on their own. Since they are champions of sustainability it made sense to partner with Intel by incorporating elements specifically designed with sustainability in mind into their devices. A prime example of this is Dell’s use of the Intel® Core™ Ultra processor.

For starters, energy efficiency of the Intel Core Ultra is 2.8x more efficient than previous generations. This makes it the most power-efficient chip Intel has ever produced. The integrated multi-processor package design of Intel Core Ultra also reduces materials used and the footprint on the motherboard. Furthermore, an estimated 60-80 percent of PCs on the Intel vPro® platform meet EPEAT silver or better.

Additionally, remote management via Intel® Active Management Technology on Intel vPro reduces the need for fuel-consuming deskside visits or asset shipments by up to 90 percent. And Intel-manufactured silicon is the most sustainable in the industry.

Today, most of your customers are now operating with this same mindset about sustainability. Some customers have actually made sustainability a top business priority, and as such will only do business with like-minded providers. That’s why every design initiative Dell undertakes supports circularity and why they provide repair, recovery and reuse programs and resources that help keep products and materials in use as long as possible.
