As a result of digital transformation and amidst recent world events, the need to have a sound data protection strategy has never been more critical. Customers in every industry are concerned that their data protection strategies may not be capable of coping with the ever-increasing array of challenges they face as they move forward into the data era.

In a recent study Global Data Protection 2021 study conducted by Vanson Bourne, they surveyed 1,000 global IT decision makers (ITDMs). The study found that in an increasing number of respondents’ organizations, the likelihood of cyber-attacks has risen to the top of the list as the biggest risk threatening their business. In addition, respondents indicated that:

Sixty-four percent of organizations are concerned that they will experience a disruptive event in the next 12 months.

Sixty-five percent of decision makers lack confidence that their organization will be able to recover all systems/data to meet SLOs following a data loss incident.

Data loss and systems downtime continue to have a significant financial impact on organizations. Average cost over the past 12 months for data loss exceeded $950,000, and the average cost of system downtime was over $500,000.

The new work-from-anywhere model, the proliferation of cyber threats, continued adoption of new technologies and the pervasiveness of hybrid, multi-cloud infrastructure require a much more holistic approach to data protection than ever before. At this same time, it is important to simplify IT management, while further ensuring the reliable protection and rapid recoverability of critical data assets.

How you can prepare customers for cyber-attacks and help them recover successfully

The fact is today, modern threats from ever-evolving cyber-attacks require modern solutions and strategies to protect customers’ vital data and systems. Having assurances that they can quickly recover their most critical data and systems after a cyber event or other disruptive event is of utmost importance to them.

There is a way that solution providers can make a significant difference in this regard. The key here is in simplifying data protection by reducing the number of vendors supplying the solutions within the customer enterprise. A comprehensive end-to-end cyber protection and cyber recovery solution can result in fewer incidents, and in turn cause less impact to the business. A smart one-stop approach can help streamline data protection across hybrid, multi-cloud, and edge environments by ensuring the right solution for an organization’s unique requirements.

There are a select few vendors that deliver end-to-end cyber protection and cyber recovery solutions that fill this bill. Do you know who they are? If not, you may want to find out sooner rather than later so that you can capture your share of this rapidly emerging market opportunity.
